Qualifications and training: In order to be considered for a position as an Andalex Telelanguage interpreter, applicants must demonstrate:

1. Ability to speak, read, and write fluently both in English as well as in the target language. Exceptions for reading and writing are made for languages such as Hmong, and Mien, where a writing system has not, or has only recently, been developed.
2. Ability to comprehend and render idiomatic expressions in both English and the target language.
3. Demonstrate correct usage of grammar and syntax in both English and the target language.

Evaluation of an interpreter's proficiency in interpreting from English into the target language and vice versa consists of a series of comprehensive tests. The tests, which cover both written and oral abilities in a variety of subjects and situations, are geared specifically towards the needs of our customers.

Only applicants who score 80% or above are considered; then they go through a rigorous interviewing and reference-checking process with our Human Resources representative.
